Votto Vines Highlights Isiah Thomas’ Cheurlin Champagne

By January 30, 2023Connecticut, Top News

Votto Vines highlighted sparkling wine supplier Cheurlin Champagne—founded in the Aube region of Champagne, France, in 1788 by the Cheurlin family—during the holiday season. The family’s winemaking dates back through nine generations and the family owns and manages more than 200 acres of land, growing three different grape varietals: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. Former Detroit Pistons player and NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas purchased the rights to the grapes and brand in 2016, becoming the largest American- and black-owned Champagne company in the world. Thomas set out to be the first person to bring a high-quality, low-sugar, family-owned Champagne to the U.S. and Canada. Cheurlin Champagne is the fastest-growing Black-owned Champagne company. Its line includes Cheurlin Champagne Brut Spéciale, Rosé de Saignée, Cheurlin Thomas and Le Champion.
