By September 24, 2020Rhode Island, Top News

West Cork IPA Cask Finished blended Irish whiskey delivers aromas of citrus, tropical fruit and a lingering sweetness, with flavors of caramel, toffee, citrus peel, and malt and sweet vanilla and malt undertones on the finish.

MS Walker of Rhode Island launched West Cork Distillers’ new limited-release IPA Cask Finished blended Irish whiskey, available nationally and locally. The new release joins West Cork’s expanding line of craft whiskeys, which includes its Bourbon Cask, Black Reserve, 8 Year Single Malt Irish whiskeys and a variety of limited-release offerings. West Cork IPA Cask Finished blended Irish whiskey is a 75:25 blend of Irish wheat and malted Irish barley, triple-distilled in copper pot stills and aged in first-fill bourbon casks for four years. The malt and grain components are then blended and aged for an additional six months in casks that had held Irish craft brewer Blacks of Kinsale’s IPA beer. West Cork Distillers, which is 100% Irish-owned and uses only local Irish ingredients, was founded in 2003 by childhood friends John O’Connell, Denis McCarthy and Ger McCarthy.
