Worldwide Wines hosted a brand kickoff event on Feb. 1 at its North Haven offices for Bezel wines. New from the family behind Napa Valley’s iconic Cakebread Cellars, Bezel draws from 50 years of winemaking experience in crafting high-quality, fruit-forward wines to elevate the everyday wine drinking occasion. With a focus on selecting grapes that reflect the unique personality of their region, Bezel Chardonnay and Pinot Noir come from California’s coastal, cool-climate Edna Valley. Winemaker Jane Dunkley met with the sales team and led them on a guided tasting and education session as the brand launches in Connecticut. Bezel Edna Valley Chardonnay 2021, 14.1% ABV, offers aromas of bright lemon and green apple, with subtle pie crust, oak and hints of vanilla on the nose. Slow ripening develops elegant chardonnay with great nuances of flavor. Bezel Edna Valley Pinot Noir 2021, 13.5% ABV, is made from one of the latest and highest-quality harvests in memory for the Edna Valley. Red cherries and fresh-cut roses are met with a savory rhubarb pie finish.
