Worldwide Wines Welcomes New Napa Vintages

By November 24, 2021Connecticut, Top News

Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, a blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 22% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot, was aged for 22 months in two-thirds new French oak barrels, giving the wine a round, burnished texture and elevated fruit intensity. Dalla Valle Maya 2018 is a signature blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, vintage fermented and aged without intervention and bottled without filtration. The low-impact winemaking techniques, along with organic and biodynamic farming practices, bring added life to the wine.

Worldwide Wines added two 2018 wines from Dalla Valle’s estate vineyards in Oakville: Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 and Dalla Valle Maya 2018, a vintage in which the grape growing season developed with a slow, steady build in color and aromatics, and a uniform maturing of tannins in the end. The result is a lineup of wines that is distinctive, dense and highly polished. Dalla Valle Vineyards is recognized as one of Napa Valley’s preeminent family-run wineries. Founded in 1986 by Naoko and her late husband, Gustav Dalla Valle, and located on the famed eastern hillsides of Oakville, Dalla Valle Vineyards has earned international acclaim yielding wines of extraordinary character and complexity, vintage after vintage. Today, Dalla Valle is guided by the mother-and-daughter team of Naoko and Maya Dalla Valle, who work alongside a team that includes Consulting Winemaker Andy Erickson, Vineyard Manager Edgar Alfaro, as well as Consulting Enologist Michel Rolland.
