ShakesBeer Festival Raises Funds for Historic Theater

A portion of the proceeds raised during the ShakesBeer Festival go toward revitalization efforts of the historic Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford.

Hundreds of beer lovers and connoisseurs came out to support the historic Shakespeare Theatre on Elm Street in Stratford during the fourth annual ShakesBeer Festival. Beer vendors, including Broad Brook Brewing Company, Charter Oak Brewing Company, Samuel Adams, Duvel and many others provided guests with brews. The festival raised $10,000 towards revitalization efforts for the historic Shakespeare Theatre. The ShakesBeer Festival is organized by Steve Bilodeau, Beer Manager of Wines Unlimited; Pete Rodrigues, Manager of Captain’s Keg; the Town of Stratford and The Stratford Arts Commission, along with help from breweries and distributors. Food vendors were set up and guests also enjoyed musical entertainment.
