The eighth annual Fire & Ice Festival was held in the streets of downtown Putnam, where the largest single ice block carving competition in the U.S. was the main attraction on February 10. Guests watched live ice carving demonstrations by professionals and amateurs, a wedding cake contest and enjoyed many showcased sponsors and vendors. Attendees also shopped and took advantage of food and drink specials at local restaurants. SKYY Vodka and SKYY Infusions sponsored a seven-foot long ice bar at The Courthouse Bar & Grille, a double luge at 85 Main, and additional luges at Jessica Tuesdays and The Crossings Brew Pub. The four venues also served specialty cocktails featuring SKYY Vodka. During the evening, fire torches were lit and visitors were treated to two live performances by Sasha the Fire Gypsy. Over 8,000 people attended, making it the largest turnout in festival history.
