10th Anniversary of Igor’s Dream Release Celebrated

By March 3, 2022Connecticut, Top News

Two Roads Brewing Company celebrated the 10th anniversary of its first commemorative beer with the February 2022 release of three new variations of its Igor’s Dream Russian Imperial Stout. Igor’s Dream was first released by Two Roads to honor the late Igor Sikorsky, an aviation pioneer who originally hailed from Russia and whose namesake company, Sikorsky Aircraft, still makes helicopters today in Stratford where the brewery is based. A portion of the proceeds from pint sales from the Feb. 5 event benefited the Sikorsky Historical Archives, a volunteer organization based in Stratford whose mission is to preserve the history of Igor Sikorsky’s life and his contribution to aviation. The new brews were highlighted at the Igor’s Dream 10th Flight preview and dessert pairing event at the brewery’s taproom on Feb. 2. Guests enjoyed 4-ounce tastes of the three new variations: Igor’s Dream Aged in Bourbon & Rye Whiskey Barrels, Igor’s Dream Aged in Maple Syrup Barrels and Igor’s Dream Aged in Tipo Jerez Sherry Barrels, paired with desserts from locally based Stratford Sweets, Hardcore Sweets, Moon Rocks and Fascia’s Chocolates. Beer enthusiasts returned to Two Roads for the official bottle release of Igor’s Dream Russian Imperial Stout on Feb. 5 to purchase bottles of the new flavors along with vintage bottles of Igor’s Dream. Flights of all three of the new varieties of Igor’s Dream were available at the tasting room’s Growler Bar and Two Roads Area Two served two surprise vintages on tap.
