
Mad River Distillers of Warren, Vermont, brought tastes of its handcrafted spirits to Sin bakery in Newport on January 27. Mad River Distillers Brand Ambassador Megan Freitas led guests through a Q&A and tasting of several Mad River Distillers’ offerings, including Mad River Revolution Rye, Bourbon Whiskey, Maple Cask Rum and First Run Rum. Guests sampled Mad River spirits offerings and Sin’s specialty cocktails, all paired with baked goods.

- First Run Rum and Mad Apple Brandy cocktail, featuring First Run Rum, fresh lemon and lime juices, thyme infusion, egg white, a float of Mad Apple Brandy and a splash of soda.
- The Maple Cask Rum cocktail, featuring Mad River Distillers Maple Cask Rum, vanilla ice cream, black walnut bitters, torched brown sugar, maple syrup and a cinnamon-stick garnish.
- Vanilla Rum cocktail, featuring Mad River’s Vanilla Rum, chai iced tea and almond milk, with a rosemary sprig garnish.
- The Revolution Rye cocktail, a blend of Mad River Revolution Rye, Montenegro Amaro, cinnamon infusion and orange juice, garnished with a cherry, orange peel and clove.
