Westerly’s Grey Sail Brewing hosted an Oktoberfest at its taproom and brewery facility on Sept. 23. Guests enjoyed local and traditional German beer, festive cocktails from its spirits operation, South County Distillers, German fare, a stein hoisting competition, music and more, set outside during the afternoon and into the evening hours. Founded by Alan and Jennifer Brinton, Grey Sail Brewing began in 2011, brewing its first flagship ale in its historic 1920s factory building, first known as The Westerly Macaroni Factory, on Canal Street. The team has expanded its range, offering brews such as Hazy Say, Flying Jenny and Captain’s Daughter among them, as well as operating its South Country Distillers line of craft spirits and hard seltzers.
