AldenAlli Wines Welcomed by Slocum & Sons

By June 26, 2021Connecticut, Top News

New to Connecticut are 2017 AldenAlli Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir and 2019 AldenAlli Santa Barbara County Chardonnay.

A new joint venture between Dan and Allison Kosta of famed winery Kosta Browne, worldwide personality Chef Emeril Lagasse and his wife, and Alden has culminated the two families’ expertise in combining superior food, wine and hospitality to create a new line of Sonoma Coast wines, AldenAlli. The creation of AldenAlli wine began with the convergence of friendship, families and culinary passions with the Kosta and Lagasse families. With Winemaker Shane Finley, the team created wines from vineyards around the Sonoma Coast appellation, including its 750 feet above sea level, cornerstone Pinot Noir vineyard, Campbell Ranch and more easterly Sunchase, Sierra Madre and Gap’s Crown vineyards. A cuveé of three distinct cool-climate vineyards, the 2017 AldenAlli Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir offers elegance, brightness and acidity, complemented by structure, medium-body and spice characteristics, aged 10 months in 14% new French oak. The 2019 AldenAlli Santa Barbara County Chardonnay, sourced from the Sierra Madre vineyard, located in Northern Santa Barbara County, is a lively and bright wine with a nuanced palate and balances bright tropical fruit and citrus flavors, with slight pineapple notes and refreshing minerality.
