A team from Aquidneck Island’s Allen’s Wine & Spirits hit the Kentucky Bourbon Trail as part of a visit to the Old Forester Distillery to select a private barrel. Allen’s Wine & Spirits Owner Alex Allen and General Manager Philip Correia tasted through several expressions, choosing and now aging an Old Forester single barrel, expected to arrive to the store in the new year ahead. Old Forester Bourbon Whiskey is crafted in Louisville, Kentucky, and is the only bourbon that was continuously made and marketed since 1870 through Prohibition. The team toured the historic distillery and cooperage as part of its selection, then continued through to several additional locations and distilleries while in Louisville for several days. Old Forester is distributed in Rhode Island via Southern Glazer’s Beverage Company.
