Wisevoter, a bipartisan educational platform, analyzed the percentage change in beer production by state compared to last year. As U.S. brewers continue to struggle with shortages and production due to the aftermath of the pandemic, Wisevoter offered analysis of Q2 2022 compared to Q2 2021 to figure out which states have been thriving this year and which states have been hit by the current shortages or other factors. Only 10 states saw an increase in production compared to last year, while the rest saw a decrease. States ranked by increase in production in 2022 compared to 2021 showed the top 10 growth as: Arizona, 13%; Massachusetts, 13%; Indiana, 12%; North Carolina, 11%; Alaska, 10%; Virginia, 9%; New Jersey, 7%; Connecticut, 5%; Maine; 5% and Maryland, 1%.
