The Bulleit Distilling Co. in Shelbyville, Kentucky, opened its new Visitor Experience center aimed at creating “a sensory-rich tasting experience brought to life.” The experience becomes the official 17th stop on The Kentucky Bourbon Trail®. The venue includes partnerships for sustainable operations: the nonprofit Oceanic Global ensures the tasting experience aligns with The Oceanic Standard (TOS) certification program to adopt sustainable practices and eliminating single-use plastics; an organic cocktail garden developed in partnership with The University of Kentucky provides ingredients and garnishes for the on-site cocktail bar; and with the Kentucky Propane Education & Resource Council, in its commitment to using propane to power Visitor Experience buses. Bulleit and Diageo announced the commitment to sourcing 100% renewable electricity by 2030, with the property hosting the first industrial solar array in Shelby County.
