Maximum Beverage presents the 5th annual West Hartford Whiskey Festival. Sample from more than 250 different bourbons, scotches, whiskies, gin, tequilas, rums and many more. Premium cigar selections will be offered. Greater Hartford area restaurants will feature culinary creations. Guests can participate in raffle prizes. Proceeds from the event will be donated to Hartford’s Camp Courant.

The Rhode Island Hospitality Association (RIHA) will host a series of two ManageFirst: Hospitality Management training seminars on January 28 and February 4, 2019. Upon completing the two day course, industry professionals will have the option to take the test to earn industry-recognized National Restaurant Association Certification in Hospitality and Restaurant Management. The exam will take place at the end of class on February 4.

The Rhode Island Hospitality Association (RIHA), along with representatives from the American Hotel & Lodging Association and the National Restaurant Association will gather to discuss issues that will impact hospitality businesses on the local, state and federal levels of government.
The Rhode Island Hospitality Association (RIHA) will host its annual Summer Membership Reception at The Capital Grille in Providence on June 18, 2019. The event will immediately follow the RIHA Board of Directors meeting. Hosted by Chris Phillips, former RIHA Board member and General Manager of The Capital Grille, guests will be treated to appetizers and drinks outside on the venue patio. The Rhode Island Hospitality Association (RIHA) will host its Economic Outlook Breakfast virtually on September 9, 2020. Industry experts will discuss critical forecasting of trends in the Hospitality Industry. Speakers will include Hudson Riehle, SR. VP of Research/Information of the National Restaurant Association, who will present critical information that will help Rhode Island restaurateurs get ahead of the competition; Rachel Roginsky, Principal, Pinnacle Advisory Group presents the lodging industry with the most up to date statistics and economic overview specific to Rhode Island; and Heather Singleton, COO, RI Hospitality Association, who will discuss the workforce challenges facing the hospitality industry in the wake of COVID-19. This event is open to RIHA members only.
Register for the annual 2020 RI Hospitality Golf Classic. A tasting event for golfers, and a golfing event for eaters and drinkers trade professionals and RIHA members will enjoy a day on links for a good cause.

Newport Restaurant Week, an annual showcase of culinary talent in Newport and Bristol counties, will take place November 6-15, 2020. More than 55 venues will participate in this year’s event which will include prixe-fixe menus, discounted rates for meals and gift cards and a half price raw bar, with health precautions for COVID-19 in place.
Partners in the 14th annual restaurant week include “Take it Outside” and “Dining Under Wraps,” initiatives aimed toward facilitating more outdoor dining in the colder months, along with the “Rhode Island Restaurant Pledge,” an agreement created by the Rhode Island Hospitality Association (RIHA) where restaurants promise to help keep guests safe with sanitation and social distancing measures.

The Rhode Island Hospitality Association’s Women in Hospitality Council presents “The Working Woman” event series, which will take place weekly throughout the month of March. Sponsored by MS Walker of Rhode Island, the four part series will be hosted virtually via Zoom, offering self care tips and information on the current state of the industry and a preview of what hospitality professionals can expect in 2021. The event series will provide participants with information, resources and tools, and a place to connect for women who have been “disproportionately impacted” across every industry due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Proceeds from the event will benefit the RI Hospitality Education Foundation.
The total cost for attendance is $25 per person, and remains the same for attending one or all four events.
Taking place on March 1 at 11:30 a.m., the topic of the first in the event series is Energy, Values and Self Care During a Global Pandemic.
