California Wine Country Relief Efforts Raise Funds

Multiple companies announced efforts to aid in the California wildfire recovery. Foley Family Charitable Foundation and Foley Family Wines donated $225,000 to be divided among the Community Foundation Sonoma County (Sonoma County Resilience Fund), the Napa Valley Community Foundation (Napa Valley Community Disaster Relief Fund), and the Sonoma County Grape Growers Foundation (Housing Support for Ag Workers Displaced by Fires Fund). The company also set up a Go Fund Me account to support those affected by fires in the community with an employee contribution match. Old Bridge Cellars in Napa donated $50,000 to non-profit organizations in California to support relief efforts. New York-based Zachys announced a fundraising effort called “The California Strong Initiative.” E. & J. Gallo Winery slated $1 million in donations; Robert Mondavi Winery hosted a benefit concert featuring Michael Franti & Spearhead in November; and both Vintage Wine Estates and Young’s Market Co. announced aid. Young’s Market Co. also created fundraising campaigns.
