A pairing dinner featuring Canción Tequila was hosted at The Beach House in Bristol on Oct. 10 in collaboration with distributor MS Walker of RI. Canción Tequila Co-owners Andy Verderame and Bill Tumbler were in attendance to give guests brand education and lead the tasting during a five-course pairing dinner prepared by the culinary team at The Beach House. Canción Tequila in Blanco and Reposado expressions was showcased in several event cocktails created by the bar team. Canción’s Blanco, Reposado, Añejo and Extra Añejo tequilas are all double-distilled and then filtered three times for an ultra-premium, surprisingly smooth taste. The agave is harvested from the valleys of Jalisco, Mexico, where the obsidian-rich soil imparts a slight citrusy, peppery hue to the Blanco. Canción Reposado Tequila is aged for nine months in Kentucky bourbon barrels of American white oak, leaving buttery, oaky notes. The Añejo is aged even longer, remaining in the American white oak bourbon barrels for 18 months and boasting notes of smoky tobacco and vanilla finish. The latest addition to the Canción Tequila family is the Extra Añejo, which rests for at least three years, creating a celestial union of a premium bourbon barrel and agave spirit to conjure seamless notes of dry fruit, woody smoke and hints of caramel and butterscotch.
