Cheshire Cocktail Competition Showcases Italian Spirits

Opici Family Distributing of Connecticut hosted a bartending competition featuring Bonaventura Maschio Spirits at Viron Rondo Osteria in Cheshire on July 29. Hosted by Dan Rek, Beverage Director, Viron Rondo Osteria, in the venue’s outdoor bar, eight local bartenders created their best cocktails using at least two spirits from the Bonaventura Maschio Spirits line, including La Grappa 903 Tipica, Amaro Bonaventura Erbe e Fiori, The Barmaster Gin, Amaro Bonaventura Erbe e Spezie and La Grappa 903 Barrique. The panel of judges: Emily Marrazzo, State Manager, Leone Alato; Brian Reilly, Chef and Director of Business Growth, Mecha Noodle Bar Group; and Brandon Ojakian, CT Food Blogger, Bald Bites, evaluated each cocktail eventually choosing three winners: first place: Jose Colon, Elm City Social; second place: Stephanie Vargas, Mecha Noodle Bar; and third place: Erin Sawyer, Fair Haven Oyster Co.
