Johnson Brothers of Rhode Island and Murphy’s in Providence hosted a cocktail competition featuring California brand, Savage & Cooke. The April 29 event showcased the spirits line as bartenders mixed creative cocktails for the win. The Savage & Cooke distillery and tasting room, owned by Napa Valley Winemaker Dave Phinney, is located on Mare Island, where its history as a naval shipyard and brownstone buildings set the stage for its handcrafted spirits, including Lip Service 3 Year Rye, Second Glance Whiskey and The Burning Chair Bourbon. Of the seven competitors, Courtney Gueritan from The Common Pub won with her cocktail, Blueberry Rye Spritzer.
