The Madison Beach Hotel Curio Collection by Hilton hosted a cocktail release party showcasing Vermont’s Barr Hill Gin in its Wharf Bar and Wine Room on July 5. During the Tap the Barrel Release Party, Lead Bartender Mike “Boston Mike” Mills unveiled his barrel batched cocktail, the Madison Honey Bee, for guests. Mills walked cocktail enthusiasts through how to batch the cocktail and taught them about the aging process. A house favorite created by Mills, the Madison Honey Bee is a blend of Barr Hill Gin, Aperol, and Amaro Nonino and is barrel-aged for 90 days, which imparts oak flavors into the cocktail. Served over ice with an orange peel garnish, the cocktail is “a great alternative for those Aperol Spritz and Negroni lovers,” Mills said. “A delicious, well-balanced cocktail to enjoy while overlooking the Long Island Sound here at the Madison Beach Hotel.”
