The Connecticut Restaurant Association (CRA) set the date for its annual awards gala for Monday, December 3, at Foxwoods Resort Casino. New this year, the event is renamed the CRAzies, offering expanded award categories to “help recognize everyone from throughout the state,” the trade association announced. The 2018 CRAzies presented by Sysco Connecticut recognizes the exceptional ability and talent of the Connecticut restaurant community through 15 awards including Restaurant of the Year, Restaurateur of the Year, Chef of the Year, Caterer of the Year, Mixologist of the Year, Server of the Year and more. Another new addition for 2018, the Restaurant of the Year category, addresses four regions throughout the state. The north region will represent Hartford County and Tolland County; south region – New Haven County and Middlesex County; east region – New London County and Windham County; and the west region – Fairfield County and Litchfield County. The winners from each region will then have a chance to win Overall Restaurant of the Year for Connecticut. Register at ctrestaurant.org.
