CT Regulatory News: Wholesaler THC-Infused Beverages Sales Reporting

From the Office of M. Caitlin S. Anderson

Liquor Control Division Director

Re: Wholesaler THC-Infused Beverages Sales Reporting

On January 2, 2025, all wholesalers must report to the Department of Consumer Protection the number of THC-infused beverage cans sold to package stores from July 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024.  The wholesalers must pay to the Department $1 per can.

As a reminder, wholesalers can only:

  1. Sell THC-infused beverages to package stores with the THC-Infused Beverage Endorsement;
  2. Sell THC-infused beverages bearing the “21+” symbol and necessary QR Code; and
  3. Effective October 1, 2024, only purchase THC-infused beverages from entities holding a Connecticut Infused Beverage Manufacturer License.

Steps to complete the THC-infused beverages reporting and pay the fee:

  1. Go to https://elicense.ct.gov.
  2. Log into the active LIW or LWB credential’s account with the existing user ID and password. (You must use the credential given when the permit was issued and that is used for renewals; do not create a new user ID.)
  3. Once logged in, scroll down to “More Online Services” and then click “License Maintenance.”
  4. Select the LIW or LWB credential reporting and click “Start.”
  5. From the drop-down menu, select “THC Infused Beverage Sales Reporting” and complete the submittal and payment process.

To complete the reporting, you must know how many THC-infused beverages cans you sold from July 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024.  Note that wholesalers must follow this same process on July 1, 2025 to report the number of cans sold from January 2, 2025 through June 30, 2025.
