CT REGULATORY NEWS: June into July Delivery Extension

From the Office of John Suchydcpsealnew

Division Director of Liquor Control

May 12, 2015

Department Announces Extension Of Delivery For Products Ordered Through June 30, 2015

On May 7, 2015 the Liquor Control Commission announced that all Connecticut wholesalers could extend its deliveries for all products ordered in June 2015 to July 3, 2015.  This is an approval for an extension of delivery, not an extension of ordering product.

Earlier, the Commission reviewed the letter received by the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of Connecticut Inc. dated May 5, 2015.  On behalf of its members, it requested approval for its members to deliver alcoholic liquor products ordered by the end of the day on June 30, 2015 to its retail customers through July 3, 2015. The Commission approved this request and expanded it to include all Connecticut wholesalers.

The Commission noted that the delivery for products by the end of the day in June could be adversely affected by the significant volume of orders for the Fourth of July holiday weekend and by the historical and projected heavy traffic and congestion preceding the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

The department has waived any regulatory restrictions that might otherwise prevent wholesalers from delivering such orders through the end of business on July 3, 2015.

Wholesalers and retailers are reminded that, pursuant to section 30-6-A36 (a), the period of credit shall be calculated as the time elapsing between the date of receipt of merchandise by the retailer and the date of full legal discharge of retailer through the payment of cash or its equivalent from all indebtedness arising from the transaction.
