By December 27, 2020Connecticut, Top News

Diageo employees supported U.S. veterans by packing 10,000 care packages from their homes for the Crown Royal Purple Bag Project on Veteran’s Day.

Diageo hosted its annual North American Military Service Appreciation Month kickoff with a virtual packing event on Nov. 17. In honor of Veteran’s Day, hundreds of Diageo employees assembled 10,000 care packages for members of the American military from their homes in collaboration with the Crown Royal Purple Bag Project, which sends the care packages along with personal letters in its branded purple bags to service members deployed overseas in appreciation for their service. Debra Crew, President of Diageo North America and a U.S. Army Veteran, gave a virtual fireside chat, and was joined on the livestream by special guests from the company’s nonprofit partners and community, including Packages From Home, iPads For Soldiers and the Kappa Epsilon Psi (KEΨ) Military Sorority, Inc. Diageo again partnered with nonprofit organizations Packages From Home, the official charity partner of the Crown Royal Purple Bag Project, and iPads For Soldiers, an organization that provides iPads to soldiers in battle and wounded warriors as morale boosters and key elements in the recovery process.
