The team at Horizon Beverage Co. of Rhode Island welcomed Dogfish Head brews to portfolio offerings during a summer sales launch at Fish Co. in Providence. Sam Calagione, Brewer and Co-founder of Delaware-based Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and Distilling Co., joined the sales team first for a dinner presentation, followed by an outdoor public event for craft beer fans on July 27. Calagione, who gained media fame as early an advocate for the craft beer industry, presented several of the beers, including Slightly Mighty Lo-Cal IPA, 60 Minute IPA and Hazy-O! Hazy IPA. In 2019, Dogfish Head merged with longtime U.S. craft beer pioneer The Boston Beer Company, best known for its Samuel Adams brand, which launched in 1984, and whose portfolio now also includes Angry Orchard Hard Cider, Twisted Tea and Truly Hard Seltzer. Guests also enjoyed tastes of Dogfish Head Lemon Quest Non-Alcoholic Wheat Brew, as well as Dogfish Head Distilling Co. Strawberry & Honeyberry Vodka Lemonade and Dogfish Head Distilling Co. Blueberry Shrub Vodka Soda.
