Elmo Pio Black Cherry, Elmo Pio Wild Blueberry, Elmo Pio Moscato, Elmo Pio Sweet Peach and Elmo Pio Tropical Mango, each a blend of white wine from Italian grapes and sweet fruit.

Murphy Distributing added several new wines from Italian importer and producer, Elmo Pio. The Pio family has been in the wine business for three generations through today by importing only the highest quality Italian wines. In 1964, Bartolomeo Pio, the patriarch of the Pio family, sold the family winery and transitioned from local winemaker to international wine importer and distributor, with Pio Imports selling import Pio Cesare wines from their cousins in the Piemonte region in Italy. In 1976, Bartolomeo Pio’s son, Elmo, long working in the family’s distribution business, began to label, bottle and import his own line of fine Italian wines beginning with Elmo Pio Moscato. After Elmo’s passing in 1996, his children furthered their father’s legacy by continuing to import wines from Italy. New to Connecticut wines include Elmo Pio Moscato, Elmo Pio Sweet Peach, Elmo Pio Wild Blueberry, Elmo Pio Black Cherry and Elmo Pio Tropical Mango, each a blend of white wine from Italian grapes and sweet fruit, at 7% ABV for light and refreshing enjoyment.
