Fine Terroir welcomed a new vegan wine line, Care Wine of Spain, from the D.O.P. Cariñena. Produced by Bodegas Care, its name has a twofold meaning. From the ancient name used by the Romans for Cariñena – which they called Caraellana, “the dear plain” – the historic etymology of the name reflects the place and the winery’s “roots and our love for the land,” the care taken and the respect shown in making all of its wines. Care’s labels each feature a face from the original work of artist Enrique Torrijos, bringing together the brand’s vision of becoming the “new face” of Garnacha (also called Grenache). Founded in 2000 with the goal to create innovative wines, the winery is a fusion between the tradition of one of the most deeply rooted wine regions in Spain and creating modern wines for lifestyles around the world. New to Connecticut are Care Blanco Sobre Lías (On the Lees) 2019, a 40% White Grenache and 40% Chardonnay; Care Garnacha Nativa 2019, a Viñas Viejas (Old Wine) of 100% Grenache; Care Solidarity Rosé 2019, 50% Tempranillo and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon; and Care Tinto Sobre Lías, a 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah.
