Freixenet Mionetto USA conducted more than 60 webinar training sessions with retailers and distributors during the period of late March through June. The online training events highlighted a variety of wineries around the world, including Castello di Monsanto in Tuscany, Champagne Alfred Gratien in Épernay, Freixenet in Catalonia, Gloria Ferrer in Sonoma, Mionetto in Valdobbiadene, Pertinace in Piedmont, Schloss Johannisburg in the Rheingau, Segura Viudas in Catalonia and Windvane in Carneros. The company also partnered with the International Festival of Arts & Ideas for a virtual happy hour at New Haven’s Cave à Vin on June 25. The annual festival celebrated its 25th anniversary with a variety of online artistic experiences and programming centered on the theme, “Democracy: We the People,” featuring interactive events and conversations in lieu of in-person events, normally held throughout New Haven. Virtual festivalgoers listened to the musical art installation “More or Less I Am,” inspired by the poems of Walt Whitman, while enjoying cans of Bollicini Sparkling Lambrusco Red Wine and I Heart Wines Pinot Grigio. The next day the group gathered virtually to listen to Karin Coonrod, Professor of Directorial Studies at Yale University, discuss the previous night’s performance.
