Former Narragansett Brewing Company employee Joseph Ianaire, who worked at the company for 34 years, next to Gov. Gina M. Raimondo during a tour of the Isle Brewers Guild facility in May. Isle Brewers Guild is now home to Narraganset Beer’s brewing operations.

In May, Governor Gina M. Raimondo toured the Isle Brewers Guild facility, which recently opened in Pawtucket, with 94-year-old Pawtucket resident Joseph Ianaire. Ianaire is a former Narragansett Beer employee of 34 years. The Isle Brewers Guild facility brought the brewing of Narragansett Beer back to Rhode Island for the first time since 1983. Current Narragansett employees led Raimondo and Ianaire on a tour of the brewing operations as they sampled beer tastes. Raimondo, the Rhode Island General Assembly, the Rhode Island Commerce Corporation and the Department of Business Regulation “worked to modernize regulations on breweries to make it easier for them to do business.” In Raimondo’s State of the State address back in January, she proposed the Rhode Island Manufacturing Initiative, to help manufacturing companies, including breweries, invest in new equipment and employee-training opportunities. Rhode Island’s craft beer industry supports 1,500 jobs.
