
The United States Bartenders’ Guild Connecticut (USBG CT) chapter, along with Allan S. Goodman and Eder Bros, Inc., hosted the second “Civil War Bartending Competition” series on April 24 at Hudson Grille in Stamford. The second competition featured Zaya Rum and named Max Cuscuna of Hudson Grille the first place winner. Dave Cohade of the Bartenders’ Academy came in second place and Angel Pena-Fernandez of Cactus Rose came in third place. Chris Munk of Eder Bros., Inc. served as the event emcee and Lisa Kazersky of Infinium Spirits, Nicky Smith, Owner of Hudson Grille and Jeff Conelius of Allan S. Goodman served as the event judges. On May 8, the third competition in the series was held at Cure Restaurant in the Unionville section of Farmington. Tin Cup Whiskey was the featured spirit and Jeff Conelius of Allan S. Goodman emceed the competition. Event judges included USBG CT members Daniel Rek, Roger Gross and Chris Munk of Eder Bros. Dave Cohade from the Bartenders’ Academy took home first place, followed with Evan Parsons from the Olive Bar in Unionville and Conrad Meurice from New Haven’s Olives & Oil won third place. The competition series is made up of 10 events where winners from each competition will go on to compete in the final.
