Gran Coramino Tequila, founded by entrepreneur Kevin Hart and 11th-generation tequila maker Juan Domingo Beckmann, announced the 2023 grantees of The Coramino Fund’s U.S. program in partnership with national nonprofit Local Initiatives Support Corporation. The fund was created to support Black and Latinx small business owners and entrepreneurs who have historically lacked access to capital and resources to grow their businesses. Applications for U.S. businesses opened in November 2022 and were received from all 50 states across a range of industries, including retail trade, transportation, educational services and more. Of the 50 eligible businesses selected for grants, 50% are Black-owned, 36% are Latinx-owned, 14% are Black- and Latinx-owned, and 68% are women-owned. Established by Hart and Beckmann and developed in partnership with Global Brand Equities, Gran Coramino Tequila gives back $1 from every bottle sold to support Black and Latinx entrepreneurs and small business owners in the U.S. Its Mexico program rolls out later in 2023.
