Team from Horizon Beverage Co. of Rhode Island and Brown-Forman presented a $3,000 check to the Rhode Island Community Food Bank on March 20. Representatives from Horizon, Brown-Forman and the food bank gathered at Horizon’s West Greenwich offices for the donation, which will help feed people in need throughout the community. The sales program saw $1 per bottle sold for the month of November 2022 of Sonoma-Cutrer Sonoma Coast Chardonnay. Horizon Beverage then matched the donation per bottle, selling 125 cases or 1,500 bottles in the campaign’s efforts. Helping households since 1982, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank provides food through a network of 160 member agencies and promotes long-term solutions for the problem of hunger. One in six households in the state lack adequate food and the nonprofit uses donations to distribute healthy food to people in need, including through food pantries, meal sites and shelters.
