Kings County Distillery’s Grapefruit Jalapeño Moonshine joins the Worldwide Wines spirits portfolio. Founded in 2010, Kings County makes handmade moonshine, bourbon and other whiskeys out of the 120-year-old Paymaster Building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. The newest addition takes Kings County 80-proof signature corn whiskey, made from 80% New York State organic corn and 20% malted barley, and infuses it with grapefruit peels and whole and crushed jalapeño peppers, designed to strike a balance between citrus, bitterness and heat, creating a smooth and delicious substitute for spiced spirits in margaritas, or in place of tequila. Kings County blends distilling practices from a variety of cultures into creative whiskeys that remain traditional, using Scottish copper pot stills, open fermentation and local grains to make American whiskeys that expand the category.
