Scott Dolch was named President & CEO of the Connecticut Restaurant Association (CRA) in October, as part of the organization’s three-year leadership plan. News released by CRA’s Board of Trustees outlined the terms and commended Dolch’s tenure as Executive Director. Under the leadership of Dolch, the state’s long-standing restaurant trade association increased its membership from 400 to more than 2,100 members, with Dolch navigating the COVID-19 pandemic along with the CRA Board and team through unprecedented industry advocacy efforts and accomplishments, which included providing more than $560,000 in local restaurant grants through the newly established CT Restaurant Relief Fund; establishing a $165,000 CT Hospitality Employee Relief Fund to provide stipends to hospitality employees throughout Connecticut; creating the first COVID-19 operating guidance for restaurants and launching the Connecticut Restaurant Promise, which provided best practices and guidance to help individual restaurants navigate state guidelines and provide a safe environment for employees and customers; lobbying for the expansion of outdoor dining to allow all restaurants the opportunity to use unique outdoor spaces for additional dining options and leading the #saveCTrestaurants campaign to increase consumer confidence in on-premises dining.
