Litchfield Distillery announced its locally-made flavored vodkas were recognized by “The Fifty Best,” winning a total of three medals. The Fifty Best held a “blind” tasting with 14 members of the spirits judging panel and 34 flavored vodkas in three separate categories for its “Best Flavored Vodka” awards for 2017. Litchfield Distillery’s Blueberry Flavored Vodka received Gold Medal honors, while its Strawberry and Apple Flavored Vodkas each took Silver Medals. The flavored vodkas’ base, Litchfield Distillery Batchers’ Vodka, took a Silver Medal at the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The flavored vodkas are seasonally made with local fruit. The Apple Vodka is still available, while the Strawberry will be available early summer and the Blueberry in August, when the fruit ripens. All Litchfield Distillery vodkas are distilled from Connecticut-grown corn, sourced from Litchfield County, and are all gluten-free. The product line is available via Slocum & Sons.
