Litchfield Distillery launched two new products for distribution: Batchers’ Straight Rye Whiskey and a new ready-to-drink canned cocktail, the Batcherita, a take on a classic margarita. Batchers’ Straight Rye Whiskey is created from 70% winter rye and 30% malted barley, is 92 proof, and is available in 750 ml. The rye transforms into sweet and spicy peppery notes, while the barley adds a hint of roasted toffee. Aging in special honey-combed cooperage helps increase the whiskey’s exposure to caramelized sugars in the barrel’s char. The Batcherita, added to the RTD can lineup of existing expressions Spiked Lemonade and The Litchfielder, is a margarita-inspired offering, crafted from a recipe with spirits distilled from agave, lime juice, agave syrup and natural orange flavors, 7% ABV. The Connecticut-made Litchfield Distillery line is distributed in the state via Slocum & Sons.
