Murphy Distributors added wines from French supplier Maison Marcel: Maison Marcel Hearts, a rosé wine from Provence made from Merlot, Black Muscat and Grenache; Maison Marcel French Velvet, a Vin de France made from Merlot, Grenache and Syrah; Maison Marcel Sparkling Rosé, a nonvintage rosé crafted in Provence with the Charmat method; and Maison Marcel Ocean Bound, a Sauvignon Blanc from Gascony, with 10% of sales donated to organizations that are dedicated to ocean preservation. The Maison Marcel brand was founded by Albert Dahan in honor of his grandfather, Mr. Marcel, a dashing “bonvivant who loved dry rosé.” The family story goes that he met a lady who didn’t like rosé, and to charm her, he crafted a blend for her, which changed her mind and ultimately led to their marriage − and to the founding rosé recipe. All of its wines are natural, with low sulfites and have no added sugar, and are billed as a collection of off-dry wines “made from love in the heart of Provence.”
