Murphy Distributors Showcases SAP56 Canadian Maple Whisky

By November 23, 2022Connecticut, Top News

Murphy Distributors featured import SAP56, a Canadian maple whisky, on the fall and winter cocktail menu at Billy’s Pasta Cosi in Branford. SAP56 pairs aged Canadian whisky with Grade A maple syrup. As part of SAP56’s special formula, its artisans oversee a 56-day harvesting and processing period of pure maple water, resulting in a Grade A maple syrup with a robust taste and a deep amber color. Aged in used, charred bourbon barrels, SAP56 whisky is processed in the traditional Canadian style. Crafted with a mash bill of 85% corn, 10% rye and 5% barley, each grain is distilled and aged individually. The blend is aged for a minimum of five years, resulting in a complex and elegant whisky that shows distinct notes of oak and a hint of vanilla. “Our team spends time with our customers such as Pasta Cosi, crafting cocktails that are cost effective and seasonally appropriate,” said Matt Murphy, President, Murphy Distributors. Billy’s Pasta Cosi featured a fall cocktail combining SAP56, fresh lemon juice and bitters in a drink called the Cole Old Fashioned, “aptly named after a regular customer who trumpeted the maple syrup and whiskey combination when making cocktails,” said Rob Behan, Bar Manager, Billy’s Pasta Cosi.
