Wallingford’s New England Cider Company rolled out its Fresh Blend Cider, now available at retailers across the state by way of Craft Beer Guild Distributing of Connecticut. Historically, its Fresh Blend Cider was fueled by on-premise draft sales, along with sales of its other flavors which include Blueberry, Pineapple and Strawberry. The canning and distribution of its flagship cider is a move to adapt but thrive in response to COVID-19’s business impact, according to New England Cider Company’s Kat Manning, among other company responses, such as growler fills to go every day of the week. “Social media has been a massive help in staying connected with our fans, along with virtual events like the Zoom ‘Cider and Cheese’ pairing, as well as creative gift ideas like our custom Mother’s Day baskets with chocolates from Mystic Chocolates,” said Owner Miguel Galarraga. Galarraga and team started making cider and servicing Connecticut in 2014, opening the tasting room in July 2016.
