By January 27, 2019Connecticut, Rhode Island, Top News

Distributors Olde & New World, Inc., of Connecticut and Fox Point Wines & Spirits of Rhode Island  launched latest import, Duquesa de la Victoria, from Bodegas Valdelana. Four wines in the line, White Malavasia, Young, Crianza and Reserva, celebrate historic figure Jacinta Martinez of Sicily and Santa Cruz of Logroño, Spain. She earned the title Duchess after her husband, General Baldomero Espartero, was appointed Duke after the Civil War ended. Learned and respected, her opinions helped shape Espartero’s decisions. Bodegas Valdelana, a family-owned cellar, growing grapes and making wines in Rioja, Spain, since the late 16th century, is now run by owner and winemaker Juan Jesús Valdelana.
