Slocum & Sons welcomed three new spirits from Hotaling & Co., a distiller and importer of artisanal spirits and cocktail essentials. Morris Australian Single Malt Whisky, finished in some of the world’s finest fortified wine barrels for exceptional flavor, uses hand-selected ex-wine barrels from family-owned wineries in Barossa and Coonawarra. The Morris family began producing fortified wines in 1859, now totaling six generations of continued tradition in Rutherglen, Victoria, Australia. Fiero Habanero Tequila brings heat, as it’s naturally infused with fresh, vine-ripened (never dried or roasted) peppers from farmers markets in the Yucatán Peninsula of Mexico. Old Potrero Rye re-creates the original whiskey of America and marks the return of pot-distilled whiskey in the United States. It’s distilled in a small copper pot still at the Hotaling & Co. distillery on San Francisco’s Potrero Hill from a mash of 100% rye malt, with rye being the grain of choice for America’s first distillers.
