Newport Vineyards Hosts Benefit for Puerto Rico

By March 29, 2018Rhode Island, Top News

Newport Vineyards of Middletown hosted Una Noche para Puerto Rico to benefit those affected by the hurricanes of 2017 on February 23. Inspired by Newport Vineyards employees with family and friends who were directly impacted by Hurricanes Irma and Maria, the event featured a night of food, drinks and dancing with live music from Robertico y su Alebreke. Guests enjoyed authentic Puerto Rican cuisine by guest chefs Kevin Roth of La Estacion Restaurant in Fajardo, Puerto Rico and celebrity chef, Giovanna Huyke of Puerto Rico. Specialty cocktails were available throughout the night, including the Piña Colada, Classic Daquiri, Papa Jac and Don Coyote featuring Don Q Rum. The event was organized by the Newport Vineyards Cultivate Committee and sponsored by Newport Storm and Don Q Rum. The event raised more than $8,000 to benefit the Mark E. Curry Family Foundation – Cosa Nuestra’s Relief Fund, which pays restaurants to produce and deliver meals to those in need. Funds raised will also be used in the rebuilding of La Estacion.
