The Beervana Fest team, led by founders Mike Iannazzi of Nikki’s Liquors and Brian Oakley of Julians, hosted the inaugural NOIPA Fest at The WaterFire Arts Center in Providence on Aug. 7. The organizers said of the event, “Everybody loves IPAs. When we began Beervana Fest way back in 2008, our mission was to bring craft beer front and center into the spotlight and help to enlighten the community as to what a big world craft beer was and could be … we also felt that the market has a need to learn about the many beautiful and exciting classic styles that are really not getting much exposure in the current world.” Billed as an “exploration and celebration of diverse beer styles,” the festival offered guests the opportunity to expand their craft beer horizons with tastes of lagers, ales, Belgian blonds, dunkels, pilsners, goses, milds, gruits, kolschs, porters, barley wines and more.
