Onyx Spirits Company is closing its East Hartford distillery and speakeasy tasting room beginning in June to relocate and expand to a new location targeted to open by October 15, 2018. The expansion will enable an increase in production and enhance the visitor tasting experience, said Adam von Gootkin, Co-founder of Onyx. “It’s an exciting next evolution for Onyx Spirits … it will give more space for aging whiskey, better accommodate our customers and visitors from around the country as well as host our planned event spaces,” he said. Retail and on-premise ordering will be unaffected during the move and construction, with state distribution through Allan S. Goodman and Winebow continuing uninterrupted. Consumers and guest visits will begin in the new space once fully online, with a tasting room to accommodate over 200 people, a culinary element, and event space. The plans are to be fully detailed closer to the new facility’s opening.
