By April 24, 2021Top News, VIPs

Patrón founding Master Distiller Francisco Alcaraz, the longest-serving master distiller in the tequila industry, died at age 75 on April 4 at his home in Guadalajara after long-standing health issues. He spent more than 30 years working for Patrón, first developing the recipe and then cultivating the brand’s ultra-premium extensions to reach acclaim and popularity worldwide. A born innovator, he spent countless hours experimenting with different recipes, blends, and aging techniques and serving as the brand’s global brand ambassador educating professionals, team members and creating a lasting legacy by elevating the perception of tequila. “His remarkable career set the tequila standard for excellence and his dedication to crafting the world’s finest tequila will continue to be the essence of the Patrón,” the brand said.
