Phelps Creek Vineyards’ Owner and Director of Winegrowing, Bob Morus, visited Connecticut to meet with retailers in March. Morus, who is also a commercial airline pilot and was on his way to New York to pilot a flight to Tokyo, stopped in to Liv’s Oyster Bar in Old Saybrook to taste his wines with the management and enjoy half a dozen cherrystones. Phelps Creek Vineyards is located in Oregon at the foothills of Mount Hood, an active volcano, and one of the highest peaks in the U.S. Morus moved to Hood River in 1989 to raise wine grapes and his family, where he creates “bold, earnest wines that capture the essence of the landscape.”
