Connecticut wine and spirits industry local, David Rudman, was named USA Business Development Director of The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) in December. Formerly the Director of Education and Account Development at Brescome Barton, Rudman will support and develop the growth of candidates for WSET’s suite of qualifications, which ensures compliance between WSET’s standards and the USA’s market criteria for professional certification. Rudman also brings his experience with WSET as a Certified Educator during his time with Brescome Barton. Rob McCaughey of Palate Partners School of Wines and Spirits in Pittsburgh was appointed WSET’s USA Business Development Manager, Spirits. “I am delighted to welcome Dave and Rob to the WSET team,” said Ian Harris, WSET Chief Executive. “Their expertise and market knowledge will be invaluable as we look to further define WSET’s position in the USA, while continuing to support and nurture our existing network of APPs, candidates and graduates.”
