M&H Whisky Distillery, Israel’s first whisky distillery, debuted its collection of spirits in the U.S. in August, available via Skurnik Wines for statewide distribution. M&H (known formerly as Milk & Honey) produces one-of-a-kind whiskies and spirits using Israel’s unique climate. Due to Tel Aviv’s high temperatures and humidity, M&H Whisky Distillery’s whisky matures and extracts “barrel essence” quickly, giving the young spirit plenty of flavor with characteristics of long-aged whiskies produced in colder climates. The U.S. launch coincides with the release of M&H Whisky Distillery’s Classic Single Malt Whisky, the first-ever commercial Israeli single-malt whisky. The M&H lineup includes Classic Single Malt Whisky, Elements Sherry Cask and Levantine Gin, with ingredients such as juniper, Za’atar, lemon peel, chamomile, cinnamon and black pepper sourced directly from the Levinsky Market in Tel Aviv. M&H Whisky Distillery was developed under the mentorship of late whisky legend Dr. Jim Swan. Working within Scotch whisky guidelines, M&H Whisky Distillery has been as experimental as one can, pushing the boundaries within a once traditional industry. Among its numerous accolades, it was awarded a Double Gold Medal from the 2020 “The Fifty Best” for its first Classic Single Malt Whisky.
