On October 23, 2013, Winemaker Cyril Brun of Champagne Veuve Clicquot visited Slocum & Sons in North Haven and Esca Restaurant & Wine Bar in Middletown for educational sessions on champagne and pairings as well as bottle signings. The sessions, one for trade members and one for the public, featured Veuve Clicquot Brut NV, Rose Brut NV, Vintage 2004, La Grande Dame 2004, and Demi-Sec.
