Slocum & Sons held a recent tasting of Veuve Clicquot Brut Champagne at the Omni New Haven Hotel in conjunction with Yale University’s Commencement Weekend, May 20, 2014. The famed “yellow label” was created in 1876 to help winemakers tell the difference between the Brut Champagne and the others in the darkened cellar. It has since evolved to become the brand’s identifying color.
