Slocum & Sons Welcomes Champagne Monsarrat for the Holidays

Slocum & Sons added a new Champagne offering to add sparkle to the season: Champagne Monsarrat Grande Réserve Brut. Founded in 1956, celebrated English author Nicholas John Turney Monsarrat, already the owner of the Stoneleigh estate in New Zealand, discovered the vineyards of Champagne during a tour of the region, where a diminutive abandoned vineyard covering barely 5 hectares inspired his novel “The Visitor.” Four years later, he returned to the vineyard, this time with the keys, to renovate the winery and cellar and renew both the equipment and varietal range. After his passing, son Jason took over in 1981, developing a new range for export markets, and Jason’s daughter, Sarah Darill, has taken up the torch. Champagne Monsarrat is a Slocum Direct Import.
